MLB: Atlanta 9, Arizona 1

PHOENIX, April 21 (UPI) -- Brian McCann's two-run homer in the fifth helped spark another big offensive show by Atlanta Friday and propelled the Braves to a 9-1 win over Arizona.

Atlanta won its fourth straight game, a streak during which the Braves have scored 42 runs. After losing their first four games of the year, the Braves have won nine out of 10.

Freddie Freeman doubled home Atlanta's first run in the third and McCann then gave the Braves a 3-0 lead in the fifth with his third homer of the year.

Freeman added an RBI double as part of a four-run sixth inning and the Braves tacked on two more in the ninth on a run-scoring single from Dan Uggla and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Jason Heyward.

Arizona lost its fourth in a row to fall back to .500.

Brandon Beachy (2-1) picked up the win, allowing four hits in 7 1/3 scoreless innings. He also struck out five and drove in a run in the sixth with a fielder's choice grounder.

Trevor Cahill (1-1) was roughed up for four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3.
