NBA suspends Milwaukee's Sanders

NEW YORK, April 20 (UPI) -- The NBA suspended Milwaukee forward Larry Sanders for two games without pay Friday and fined two members of the Indiana Pacers $25,000 each.

The penalties came as a result of a late-game incident Thursday that resulted in Sanders fouling out of the contest and picking up two technicals as well.

The fines were levied against Danny Granger and David West.

Sanders picked up his fifth foul with 3:49 left and drew a technical for protesting. Twenty seconds later, Sanders tried to drive through a screen set by Granger and was called for his sixth foul. His further complaints brought another technical.

He then got into an altercation with both Granger and West.

The league said Sanders had been suspended for failing to leave the court in a timely manner. Granger and West were fined for helping escalate the on-court incident.

Indiana won the game 118-109, all but ending Milwaukee's playoff hopes.
