NBA: Cleveland 98, New York 90

CLEVELAND, April 20 (UPI) -- Kyrie Irving led the way with 21 points Friday, helping the Cleveland Cavaliers open a large lead on their way to a 98-90 victory over New York.

The Cavaliers built a 16-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter and held on to end a three-game losing streak. Manny Harris added 19 points and 12 rebounds for Cleveland.

The Knicks, with a playoff berth already wrapped up, shot just 42 percent from the field and saw their lead over Philadelphia for the No. 7 seed dwindle to a half game. New York will face either Miami or Chicago in the first round of the playoffs.

Amare Stoudemire rejoined the New York lineup after missing 13 games with back problems. He made 5-of-11 from the field and scored 15 points while playing 27 minutes.

Steve Novak had 15 for New York while Carmelo Anthony had 12.
