Miyazato leads by two shots in Hawaii

HONOLULU, April 20 (UPI) -- Ai Miyazato shot a 2-under 70 on another windy Hawaiian afternoon Friday and moved two shots in front with one round to play at the LOTTE Championship.

Miyazato birdied the closing hole at the Ko-Olina Golf Club as the winds that had abated during the second round Thursday returned.

Cristie Kerr moved into a tie for second at 209 with Azahara Munoz, who began the day tied for the lead with Miyazato but who had to settle for a 1-over 73.

Those tied for fourth at 210 included So Yeon Ryu, Jiyai Shin, Meena Lee, Angela Stanford and world No. 1 Yani Tseng. Ryu and Tseng both had a 69, the lowest score of the day.

Miyazato successfully battled the winds to make the turn in 1-under, but she bogeyed both the par-3 holes on the back side to mar an otherwise excellent round.
