MLB: New York Mets 6, Atlanta 1

ATLANTA, April 16 (UPI) -- Dillon Gee yielded one run over seven innings and Ike Davis smacked a three-run homer Monday in the New York Mets' 6-1 win over Atlanta.

Gee (1-1) tamed the Braves on four hits while allowing only one walk and striking out five for the Mets, who have opened the season with seven wins in 10 games.

Davis launched his shot in the sixth, scoring Ruben Tejada and David Wright ahead of him, to put New York ahead for good at 4-1.

Jason Bay added a solo shot for New York.

Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson (1-2) was roughed up for five runs (four earned) on five hits over seven innings.

Jack Wilson drove in the only run for the Braves, whose five-game winning streak was snapped.
