Tyler Chatwood (1-0) earned the victory with two innings of shutout relief for Colorado, which blew a 5-1 lead earlier in the game.
Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Ramon Hernandez added a solo homer for the Rockies.
Miguel Montero smacked a three-run home run for Arizona.
