MLS: D.C. United 2, New England 1

FOXBOROUGH, Mass., April 14 (UPI) -- Chris Pontius found the net late in the second half, breaking a 1-1 tie and lifting D.C. United to a 2-1 decision over New England.

On the winning play, Pontius received a pass from Nick DeLeon, brought the ball down and fired a shot past Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis.

Maicon Santos scored in the 19th minute for United (2-2-2), which notched a second win in three matches and broke a five-game losing streak against the Revs.

Jose Moreno provided an early lead with a goal for New England (2-4-0).
