MLB: Texas 1, Seattle 0

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 10 (UPI) -- Converted closer Neftali Feliz tossed seven shutout innings in his first major start Tuesday and the Texas bullpen followed his lead for a 1-0 win over Seattle.

Feliz (1-0) had racked up 74 saves over three seasons for Texas, but was turned into a starter in the off-season and responded with a sterling debut in the American League champs' rotation.

Mike Adams threw a scoreless eighth inning and Joe Nathan notched his second save with a 1-2-3 ninth for the Rangers, who won for the fourth time in five games to start the season.

David Murphy went 3-for-3 with an RBI single to provide the game's only run.

Blake Beavan (0-1) was saddled with the hard-luck loss, surrendering one run on six hits over 6 1/3 frames for the Mariners, who fell to 3-3.
