LONDON, April 2 (UPI) -- Novak Djokovic's win at the Sony Ericsson Open keeps him firmly in the world No. 1 men's tennis ranking but Americans fell after the tournament in Miami.

Djokovic defeated Andy Murray 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) Sunday in winning his third title in Miami. It improved his 2012 record to 20-2 and was his second championship of the year. His other came in the Australian Open.

Djokovic has been No. 1 for the last 40 weeks, which is tied with Ilie Nastase for the 13th longest string of consecutive weeks at the top of the rankings. His overall 40 weeks in first is tied -- also with Nastase -- for 16th most.

Americans Mardy Fish and John Isner both slipped one spot in the rankings this week. Fish goes from either to No. 9 and Isner traded places with Juan Martin del Potro and is 11th with del Potro moving to 10th.

Djokovic has 12,670 ranking points with Rafael Nadal in second at 9,935. Roger Federer, who was ousted in the third round in Miami, is third with 9,035 and Murray remains fourth at 8,040.

Janko Tipsarevic moves 90 points ahead of Fish and into eighth with 2,820 points. Del Potro has 2,660 points, 30 more than Isner.

The ATP schedule has a break this week for the Davis Cup. The World Group has quarterfinal play with Austria at Spain, the United States at France, Serbia at the Czech Republic and Croatia at Argentina.
