NHL: Columbus 5, St. Louis 2

ST. LOUIS, March 31 (UPI) -- R.J. Umberger scored twice Saturday in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 5-2 win over St. Louis, but the Blues still clinched the NHL's Central Division.

Vinny Prospal, Jared Boll and Derek Dorsett also scored for Columbus, which recorded a third straight win with the help of 34 saves from Allen York.

The loss didn't prevent St. Louis, where Ken Hitchcock took over as coach after Davis Payne was fired Nov. 6, from securing its first division title since 1999-2000, thanks to Nashville's regulation-time loss to Chicago Saturday.

David Perron and David Backes scored in the Blues' second straight setback.

Jaroslav Halak made 28 saves for St. Louis.
