NBA: Washington 97, Philadelphia 76

WASHINGTON, March 30 (UPI) -- Cartier Martin hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points off the bench Friday in bringing the Washington Wizards a 97-76 victory over Philadelphia.

The Wizards pulled off a rare and unlikely victory over a team that went into the evening's action tied for the lead in the Atlantic Division.

Washington won for just the 12th time all season and ended a five-game losing streak.

Martin hit 8-of-12 shots from the field and helped Washington roll to a 55-36 halftime lead. Jordan Crawford added 17 points for Washington.

Philadelphia, which had defeated the Wizards in each of their previous five meetings, was led by Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams with 14 points each.

Washington outrebounded the 76ers by 14 and limited Philadelphia to 36 percent shooting.
