NBA: Boston 102, Charlotte 95

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 26 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce had 36 points and 10 rebounds Monday, helping the Boston Celtics beat Charlotte 102-95 and take a share of first-place in the Atlantic Division.

Pierce went 15-of-18 from the free throw line for Boston, which improved to 27-22 on the season and forged a tie with Philadelphia atop the division.

Kevin Garnett contributed 24 points, Brandon Bass added 15 and Rajon Rondo supplied 13 assists and seven points for the Celtics, who claimed their fourth win in five games.

Gerald Henderson netted 21 points and Byron Mullens added 18 for Charlotte, which fell to 7-40.
