NHL: Florida 2, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, March 20 (UPI) -- Scott Clemmensen turned aside 35 shots, including all 12 he saw in the third period, backstopping the Florida Panthers' 2-1 win over Philadelphia Tuesday.

Sean Bergenheim and Stephen Weiss each notched a goal for the Southeast Division-leading Panthers, who lengthened their advantage over second-place Washington to five points with their fifth straight victory.

Florida holds the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Eric Wellwood scored and Ilya Bryzgalov allowed two goals on 13 shots for the Flyers, who fell four points behind Pittsburgh in the race for the East's fourth overall seed.

The Penguins thrashed Winnipeg 8-4 Tuesday.

Philadelphia had its five-game home winning streak snapped.
