Vancouver would need that tally as James Wisniewski responded with a Blue Jackets score only 65 seconds later, but Columbus could come no closer.

Alexander Edler contributed a goal and an assist, and David Booth also found the net for the Canucks, who won for only the second time in six games.

Cory Schneider earned the victory with 32 saves.

Jack Johnson notched a goal and an assist, and Vinny Prospal also scored for the Blue Jackets.

Steve Mason finished with 34 saves for Columbus.
