INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Victoria Azarenka kept her season-long unbeaten streak intact Sunday, dispatching Maria Sharapova in the finals of the BNP Paribas Open.

The Belarusian waltzed to a 6-2, 6-3 victory over the second-seeded Sharapova, improving to 23-0 on the season and 5-3 in her career against the former World No. 1.

Azarenka also dismissed the Russian in straight sets in this year's Australian Open finals.

She made good on 50 percent of her break opportunities and capitalized on three Sharapova double-faults en route to the victory, for which she pocketed $1 million.
