NHL: Chicago 4, St. Louis 3 (SO)

CHICAGO, March 14 (UPI) -- Patrick Kane's backhander provided the only score in a shootout Tuesday, handing the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 victory over NHL-best St. Louis.

After the two teams battled to a 3-3 tie in regulation and following a scoreless overtime, Kane began the tiebreaker by speeding in on the Blues' Jaroslav Halak, faking a forehand shot and moving to his backhand before putting it between the netminder's pads.
