NBA: Houston 107, Charlotte 87

HOUSTON, March 14 (UPI) -- Luis Scola pushed Houston to a quick start Wednesday and the Rockets clubbed Charlotte 107-87.

Houston outscored the Bobcats by 12 in the first period and then turned the game into a rout in the third period, when they limited Charlotte to 17 points.

Scola scored 23 points and Goran Dragic added 14 points and 10 assists. Five Houston players were in double figures and the Rockets hit 53 percent of their shots from the field.

Houston has won three out of four after losing five in a row. Charlotte has a league-low six wins this season, one of them having come in the Bobcats' previous game against New Orleans.

Derrick Brown scored 15 points to lead Charlotte.
