MLS: FC Dallas 2, New York 1

FRISCO, Texas, March 11 (UPI) -- Zach Loyd and Ricardo Villar scored for FC Dallas Sunday in their 2-1 win over Red Bull New York.

Loyd staked Dallas to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute and Villar added to it in the 61st, but a late goal by New York's Kenny Cooper made things interesting in the stretch.

Dallas nearly went up 3-0 after 73 minutes but New York goalie made a big save on Blas Perez, who assisted on both Dallas goals.

Henry Thierry assisted on Cooper's score but spent most of the match hanging around midfield looking to set up tries for his teammates.
