AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 9 (UPI) -- Tayshaun Prince hit a jumper in the lane with 24.3 seconds remaining Friday that stood up as the winning points in Detroit's 86-85 decision over Atlanta.
Atlanta came back from a nine-point deficit in the fourth period to take an 85-84 advantage on a layup by Jeff Teague. Prince then hit his go-ahead basket and Atlanta's Joe Johnson misfired on a 3-pointer from the left corner as time expired.
Josh Smith led Atlanta with 21.
Detroit climbed back to the breakeven mark in its 22 home games but the Pistons are just 3-15 on the road.
