NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 93, Miami 83

LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant sank 14-of-23 shots en route to 33 points Sunday, powering the Los Angeles Lakers to a 93-83 win over Miami.

Bryant shook off the effects of a broken nose and concussion inflicted on him by Miami's Dwyane Wade during last week's All-Star Game, helping lead the Lakers to their eighth victory in 10 contests.

Metta World Peace accounted for 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals in the Los Angeles win.

LeBron James supplied 25 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, but the Heat still lost their second straight.

Wade netted 16 points before fouling out for Miami, which had trouble overcoming the absence of Chris Bosh. The Heat power forward missed a third straight game while dealing with a death in the family.
