Milan Michalek put the Senators in front in the opening period with his 28th goal of the season but Ray Emery blanked Ottawa the rest of the way while making 25 saves.

Bickell tied it 5:14 into the middle period and Hossa delivered the final goal of the game on the power play midway through the stanza.

Robin Lehner stopped 37-of-39 shots for the Senators, who missed a chance to move within a point of Northeast Division-leading Boston.
