NHL: Florida 5, Toronto 3

TORONTO, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Mike Santorelli scored twice Tuesday and the Florida Panthers maintained their Southeast Division lead with a 5-3 victory over Toronto.

Stephen Weiss, Jason Garrison and Marcel Goc also found the net for the Panthers, who notched their third straight win to keep pace with the Washington Capitals in the division standings.

The victory gave Florida 72 points, three more than than Capitals, who also posted a third straight win Tuesday with an overtime victory over the New York Islanders.

Jose Theodore picked up the victory, stopping 28-of-31 shots.

Struggling Toronto, meanwhile, dropped a fifth straight and ninth in 10 games despite tallies from Phil Kessel, Nikolai Kulemin and Joffrey Lupul.

James Reimer turned aside 23-of-28 shots for the Maple Leafs.
