RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Greg Owen, Will Claxton and Daniel Summerhays shared the lead Friday after 36 holes at the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
With the world's top players competing in the Accenture Match Play Championship, this event gives unheralded players a chance for major success on the PGA Tour and the three co-leaders are all looking for their first win on the circuit.
Summerhays, who had the day's low round with a 6-under 65 at the Greg Norman-designed El Camaleon course, has finished in the top 25 only twice in 33 tour events.
The co-leaders stood at 8-under 134 with Owen turning in a 67 and Claxton, the first-round leader, shooting a 68.
Chris Stroud was alone in fourth at 135 while those at 136 included Kevin Stadler, Robert Allenby and Richard S. Johnson.
Norman posted a 73 and missed the cut with a 152 total.
