NHL: Pittsburgh 2, New York Rangers 0

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Marc-Andre Fleury's 27 saves Tuesday helped the Pittsburgh Penguins cool off the red-hot New York Rangers with a 2-0 shutout victory.

Fleury turned aside all 12 shots he saw in the second period and nine more in the final frame, logging his third shutout of the season and 22nd of his career.

NHL-leading scorer Evgeni Malkin added a goal and an assist and Steve Sullivan also tallied for the Penguins, who handed Eastern Conference-leading New York just its third loss in 10 February games (7-3).

Henrik Lundqvist had a rough first period, giving up two goals on nine shots, but recovered to turn aside 22-of-22 the rest of the way for the Rangers.
