NHL: New Jersey 3, Montreal 1

MONTREAL, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Martin Brodeur made 21 saves Sunday and the New Jersey Devils moved up in the Eastern Conference standings with a 3-1 decision over Montreal.

Brodeur made nine stops in each of the final two periods for the Devils, who improved to 34-20-4 and leapfrogged Pittsburgh and Philadelphia into fourth place in the East with their third straight win.

The Devils got goals from Zach Parise, David Clarkson and Matt Taormina in the victory.

Max Pacioretty scored and Carey Price turned aside 22-of-25 shots as the Canadiens suffered a third setback in four games.
