DETROIT, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Henrik Zetterberg's first-period goal set the tone Tuesday and the Detroit Red Wings won an NHL-record 21st straight home game in a 3-1 decision over Dallas.
Zetterberg scored on a power play 7:57 in the contest and the Red Wings never looked back.
Brad Stuart added a goal less than 2 minutes later and Jiri Hudler also scored as the Red Wings broke the previous mark for consecutive home wins held by the 1975-76 Philadelphia Flyers and the 1929-30 Boston Bruins.
Detroit hasn't lost at Joe Louis Arena since a Nov. 3 setback against Calgary.
Joey MacDonald turned aside 20 shots and saw his shutout spoiled with just 32.8 seconds remaining.
Adam Burish got the late goal for Dallas and Kari Lehtonen allowed three scores on 37 shots.
