The starting lineups had already been determined through fan balloting.

Derrick Rose of Chicago, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade of Miami, Carmelo Anthony of New York and Dwight Howard of Orlando will start for the East. The West starters will include Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum of the Los Angeles Lakers, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers and Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City.

Bryant will play in his 14th All-star Game, tying the record held by Jerry West, Karl Malone and Shaquille O'Neal.
