MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Nikola Pekovic and Michael Beasley both notched double-doubles Tuesday in Minnesota's 86-84 squeaker over the visiting Sacramento Kings.

Ricky Rubio hit a pair of free throws and assisted on a 3-point bucket by Derrick Williams in the final minute of play to secure the win with the Timberwolves' best player, Kevin Love, sitting out a two-game suspension for stepping on the face and chest of Houston's Luis Scola on Saturday.

Williams finished with 14 points and Rubio had six. Pekcovic led the Timberwolves with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Beasley contributed 17 points and 14 boards as Minnesota won its third straight and pushed above the .500 mark for the first time this late in a season since reaching 20-19 on Jan. 21, 2007.

Sacramento, which had won three in a row, was led by Marcus Thompson's 22 points. Jimmer Fredette had 13, including three consecutive 3-pointers, and DeMarcus Cousins scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
