NBA: Detroit 99, New Jersey 92

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Greg Monroe led a balanced Detroit attack Wednesday that overcame a 34-point show from Deron Williams and gave the Pistons a 99-92 win over New Jersey.

Monroe scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds in bringing Detroit just its second road victory this season.

The Pistons took the lead early in the second quarter and never lost it, although New Jersey briefly cut its deficit to three in the fourth quarter.

Jonas Jerebko had 16 points for Detroit. Tayshaun Prince scored 15 and Ben Gordon contributed 14. The Pistons shot 53 percent from the field.

Williams needed 21 shots to get to his 34 points, while Jordan Farmar added 22 for the Nets, who have lost four in a row.
