NBA: Cleveland 91, Dallas 88

CLEVELAND, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Kyrie Irving's layup with 15.8 seconds remaining Saturday proved to be the decisive points in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 91-88 victory over Dallas.

Irving's tough reverse shot gave him 20 for the game and put the Cavs ahead by three.

The Mavericks had two chances to tie it in the closing seconds, but Jason Terry missed a 3-pointer and Brandan Wright was off-target with a desperation shot at the buzzer.

Cleveland also got 17 points and 17 rebounds from Anderson Varejao en route to breaking its two-game losing streak.

Dirk Nowitzki put in 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Mavericks fell for third straight game.

Dallas was bedeviled by 21 turnovers.
