UNIONDALE, N.Y., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- New York Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic will miss two weeks with a broken nose after being hit in the face by a puck, the team said Sunday.
Hamonic was helped from the ice Saturday after being struck on a slapshot launched by Buffalo Sabres defenseman Christian Ehrhoff.

The 21-year-old Islanders blueliner needed stitches as well as surgery to repair the bloody damage to his nose.
Hamonic has notched a goal and 11 assists in 51 games for New York this season.
