DALLAS, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A career-best effort by Paul George Friday sent the Indiana Pacers to their first win in Dallas in eight years, a 98-87 decision over the Mavericks.
George made seven 3-pointers and scored 30 points. This was his 83rd NBA game in two seasons with the Pacers.
Indiana led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter en route to its fourth straight victory. The Pacers had not won on the Mavericks' home court since Jan. 9, 2004, a span of seven games.
David West had 20 points for Indiana and Danny Granger added 16. George's seven 3-pointers came on 11 long-range attempts.
The lone bright spot for Dallas was the best performance of the season for Dirk Nowitzki, the MVP of last season's championship series. Nowitzki scored 30 points while making 12-of-17 shots. He recently missed four games with a sore knee.
