Carlisle, Cuban fined by NBA

NEW YORK, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Dallas Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle was fined by the NBA Friday for kicking the ball into the stands during a game.

Carlisle was fined $35,000 for kicking the ball with 9:34 to go in the fourth quarter of the Mavericks' 95-86 loss Wednesday to Oklahoma City.

He said he aimed at a game official but the ball instead went into the stands and hit a young boy. Carlisle later apologized to the boy, who was uninjured.

Carlisle was ejected from the game for his actions.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was fined $75,000 for his comments about the officiating in the game.
