NBA: Atlanta 96, Memphis 77

ATLANTA, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A 21-point performance by Rudy Gay and a strong second half Thursday pushed the Memphis Grizzlies to a 96-77 victory over Atlanta.

The Hawks lost at home for only the second time in 10 games this season. Memphis has won two straight after losing four in a row.

Memphis turned a one-point lead into a 10-point halftime advantage over the final 4 minutes of the second period and then dominated the last two quarters.

Five Memphis players scored in double figures, with O.J. Mayo and Tony Allen both producing 18 points. Marc Gasol had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Atlanta, which had won six in a row at home, was led by Josh Smith with 11 points and Ivan Johnson with 10.

Memphis outrebounded the Hawks by 13 and came up with 13 steals as well.
