SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Joe Thornton had two goals and an assist and Antti Niemi had 30 saves in his fourth shutout of the season Tuesday to help the San Jose Sharks beat Columbus 6-0.
Joe Pavelski, Jamie McGinn and Michal Handzus all had a goal and an assist, and Patrick Marleau scored a goal for the Sharks, who outshot the Blue Jackets 43-30 and won their second consecutive game following a three-game losing streak.

Steve Mason made 37 saves for Columbus, which has lost five in a row and is in last place in the overall NHL standings with 32 points.
The two teams were penalized a total of 19 times in the game.
