NHL: Boston 4, Ottawa 3

BOSTON, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Dennis Seidenberg's long slap shot from center ice skidded past Craig Anderson Tuesday and proved decisive in Boston's 4-3 victory over Ottawa.

Seidenberg's goal 7:09 into the final period broke a 3-3 tie and handed the Bruins a win in the first contest of a three-game homestand.

He, Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara each netted a goal and an assist, while Tim Thomas made 30 saves in the win.

Craig Anderson finished with 26 saves on 30 shots for the Senators.

Erik Karlsson, Colin Greening and Kyle Turris all found the net for Ottawa.
