Beds being moved into Olympic Village

LONDON, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- The chairman of the London 2012 Organizing Committee said construction on the city's Olympic Village is completed and organizers have begun moving in beds.

Sebastian Coe said the first of 16,000 beds was delivered Friday, exactly six months before the start of the Summer Games, CNN reported Friday.

"We are starting the huge process to install essential facilities and services ready to welcome competitors from around the world in six months' time," Coe said.

He said other items, including 11,000 sofas, will soon be moved into the facilities.
