NBA: New Jersey 97, Philadelphia 90 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Deron Williams ignited a nine-point run to end the overtime period Wednesday and boosted the New Jersey Nets to a 97-90 win over Philadelphia.

Williams forced the extra period by making a layup with 2 seconds to go in regulation and then hit a 3-pointer with 27 seconds left in overtime to give the Nets the lead for good.

Jrue Holiday made a dunk with 1:18 to go in overtime, putting the 76ers in front at 90-88. Philadelphia got off just three more shots the rest of the way and missed them all.

Williams scored 34 points, hitting 14-of-28 from the field, and added 11 assists. Anthony Morrow contributed 16 points for the Nets, who have won three of their last five.

Philadelphia lost at home for just the second time in 10 games this season. Lou Williams led the 76ers with 17 points off the bench.
