NHL: Anaheim 3, Colorado 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Bobby Ryan scored a pair of goals and Jonas Hiller turned aside 43 shots Sunday in the Anaheim Ducks' 3-2 victory over Colorado.

Ryan put the Ducks ahead early in the first period while Colorado was on a power play. He collected an Avalanche turnover at center ice, skated in alone on Jean-Sebastien Giguere and fired it home for a 1-0 lead 2:49 into the game.

Ryan and Ryan Getzlaff each scored in the third period for a pair of much-needed insurance tallies as the Ducks built a 3-0 advantage.

Hiller wasn't dented as Colorado outshot Anaheim 15-2 in the first period and 13-8 in the middle frame. He let in late goals by Ryan O'Reilly and Milan Hejduk to make it close but ultimately held on to give the Ducks their fifth straight win.

Giguere finished with 15 saves for the Avs.
