NBA: Dallas 83, New Orleans 81

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Delonte West and Lamar Odom made up for the absence of Dirk Nowitzki Saturday, combining for 32 points in Dallas' 83-81 win over New Orleans.

West and Odom each scored 16 points for the Mavericks, who won despite playing without their injured leading scorer.

Nowitzki sat out the contest with a sore knee and is likely to miss three more games, the Mavericks said.

Shawn Marion added 14 points and 12 rebounds and Dallas held on for the victory after the Hornets' Jarrett Jack missed a put-back try following an intentionally missed free throw as time ran out.

Emeka Okafor's 16 points and 17 rebounds weren't enough to prevent a seventh straight for New Orleans.

Carl Landry added 19 points in the setback.
