MARINA DEL RAY, Calif., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Darrell Armstrong was arrested in California on a charge of gambling with insufficient funds in Las Vegas.

Armstrong was arrested Tuesday in Marina del Rey when he was pulled over for traffic violations and a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy discovered the warrant for his arrest in Nevada, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

Armstrong, who played with the Orlando Magic before his 2008 retirement, was released Wednesday after posting $40,000 bail.

The Times said no further details of the charges against Armstrong were immediately available.
