NBA: LA Clippers 101, New Jersey 91

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Blake Griffin helped Los Angeles overcome the absence of Chris Paul with 23 points and 14 rebounds Monday in the Clippers' 101-91 win over New Jersey.

Paul missed the game with strained hamstring and is listed as day-to-day after undergoing a magnetic resonance imaging exam Sunday.

The high-scoring guard was hurt in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 102-94 victory over the Lakers.

Chauncey Billups and Caron Butler each put in 20 points for Los Angeles, which won for the sixth time in seven games.

MarShon Brooks connected for 19 points but it wasn't enough to prevent New Jersey from dropping to 1-3 on a four-game road trip.
