PITTSBURGH, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Injured Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby will see a neurologist in an attempt to battle recurring concussion symptoms, the team said Monday.

Penguins General Manager Ray Shero said Crosby this week will visit Dr. Ted Carrick, a specialist in chiropractic neurology who has practices in Florida and Georgia.

"Sidney has made a lot of progress but he is still having some symptoms, so this is the next step in his recovery," Shero said. "Obviously he won't be back in the lineup until he is symptom-free."

Carrick worked with Crosby in helping him return to the ice this season following a 10-month absence with concussion symptoms. The Pittsburgh captain played just eight games, however, and has been out since Dec. 5.
