WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Antti Niemi collected his second shutout of the season while making 24 saves Thursday, boosting the San Jose Sharks to a 2-0 win over Winnipeg.
San Jose won for the fifth time in seven games and its two losses during that stretch came in overtime.

Niemi lifted his record to 19-7-3 this season with the 15th shutout of his four-year career. He came into the game giving up an average of 2.33 goals per contest.
Logan Couture broke the scoreless deadlock with 6:24 to play in the second period. He leads the Sharks with 18.
Brad Winchester produced the other San Jose goal early in the third.
Ondrej Pavelec stopped 35-of-37 shots for the Jets, who have lost four out of five.
