NBA: Indiana 96, Atlanta 84

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Danny Granger led Indiana with 24 points Wednesday and the Pacers held Atlanta to nine third-quarter points in downing the Hawks 96-84.

Indiana has won its opening four games at home, the first time it has done that in nine years.

The Pacers held only a three-point lead at the break, then broke things open in the third period while Atlanta was making a mere 4-of-19 shots from the field. The Hawks had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Indiana led by as many as 24 points in the fourth period, winning for the seventh time in its first 10 games.

David West, Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson all had 12 points for Indiana and Hibbert contributed 11 rebounds.

Josh Smith had 16 for Atlanta, which will open a four-game homestand on Thursday.
