NHL: New York Islanders 5, Detroit 1

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Matt Moulson had two goals and an assist Tuesday in the New York Islanders' 5-1 win over Detroit.

John Tavares had a goal and two assists, and Mark Streit logged two assists for the Islanders, who scored three goals on four second-period shots to run their lead to 4-0. The Islanders have won four straight and five of their last six.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 23 saves for the Isles, who had come into the game with a two-game losing streak.

Conklin let in five goals on 30 shots for the Red Wings, who finished a four-game road trip 2-2.
