NHL: Detroit 3, Chicago 2 (OT)

CHICAGO, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- The Detroit Red Wings staged a late rally Sunday and Pavel Datsyuk scored 3:08 into overtime to pull out a 3-2 win over Chicago.

Trailing 2-1 late in the third period, the Red Wings got the equalizer with 4:45 left when Henrik Zetterberg's shot slowly dribbled between the legs of Corey Crawford.

In overtime, Crawford blocked Johan Franzen's initial shot but wound up sprawled on the ice amid traffic. Datsyuk got control of the puck and roofed a shot into an empty net for the game-winner.

Valtteri Filppula also scored and Ty Conklin stopped a penalty shot among his 29 saves for the Red Wings, who pulled into a three-way tie with Chicago and St. Louis atop the Central Division.

Dave Bolland and Patrick Sharp each scored within the game's first 4:19, but the Blackhawks couldn't find the net thereafter.

Crawford finished with 24 saves.
