CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Jarome Iginla scored his 500th career goal during a big third period Saturday that allowed the Calgary Flames to top Minnesota 3-1.
Iginla's landmark goal came on the rebound of a Curtis Glencross shot 8:33 into the period and handed the Flames a 2-0 lead.
Lance Bouma, conversely, notched his first career goal and Glencross added some insurance with a power play goal in the final frame for Calgary, which improved to 8-0-1 in its last nine home games.
Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside 27-of-28 shots, including 10-of-11 in the final frame to earn the victory.
Dany Heatley got the only goal for Minnesota, which equaled the second-longest road skid in franchise history (seven straight) and dropped their 11th in 12 overall.
Niklas Backstrom turned aside 33-of-36 shots for the Wild.
