NBA: Utah 88, Golden State 87

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Utah's Gordon Hayward hit a free throw in the closing seconds Saturday and the Jazz eked out a 88-87 decision over Golden State.

Hayward connected on 1-of-2 foul shots with 11 seconds left. His trip to the line came after Monta Ellis committed a crucial turnover and was enough to gain Utah its fourth straight win.

Hayward ended with 18 points and Al Jefferson contributed 15 and eight rebounds.

Ellis, who finished with 32 points, launched a jumper at the other end as time was expiring but he was well-defensed by Raja Bell and it bounced off the rim.
