NBA: Philadelphia 101, New Orleans 93

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Jrue Holliday scored seven of his 23 points during a game-closing run Wednesday that rallied Philadelphia to a 101-93 win over New Orleans.

The 76ers trailed by as many as 15 in the second period and still faced a six-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter, but closed with a rush to win their second straight. The Hornets have lost four in a row after opening the season with back-to-back victories.

Philadelphia opened the season with five straight road games and will now play 18 of its next 22 at home. The 76ers' home opener is set for Friday against Detroit.

The score was tied with 2:57 before the 76ers went on a 14-6 surge to finish the contest. Holliday touched off the run with a 3-pointer, one of four he hit in the game.

Evan Turner added 21 points for the 76ers, making 8-of-12 from the field and all five of his free throw attempts.

New Orleans was led by Eric Gordon with 22 points and Carl Landry with 21.
